Special Guest Speaker- Danny Maciocia-Offensive Coordinator- Montreal Alouettes-Canadian Football League

Danny Maciocia is a home grown coaching rarity in that he is one of the few Canadian born and trained coaches to advance, step by step, up the career coaching ladder, primarily within the borders of our own country, to the pinnacle of Canadian football coaching- the Canadian Football League.
In 1993, at the age of 26, Dan was the running backs coach for the 19 & Under Football Canada Cup champions Team Quebec. In 1994 he was that team's offensive coordinator when it won the Eastern Canadian championship. Also in 1994 he became offensive coordinator of the Canadian Junior Football League's St. Leonard Cougars, winners of that year's Eastern Canadian Junior Football championship. In 1995 he became the Cougars head coach as well as once again serving as offensive coordinator for the 19 & Under Team Quebec that reached the national final.
In 1996 he became the first head coach of the Cannes Iron Masks of France's First Division and in 1997 was hired as Running Backs Coach of the Montreal Alouettes. In this position coached the premier group of running backs in the CFL: Single Season Rushing Record Holder Mike Pringle, CFL All-Star Mike Soles and the impressive rookie tandem of Thomas Haskins and Bruno Heppel.
During the 1998 and 1999 off-seasons he was head coach of the of the Bergano Lions of the Italian League. The team lost only one game in two seasons as it won back to back Italian Super Bowls.
Coach Maciocia is a tremendous role model and example for young Canadians with coaching aspirations. We at Mount Allison are both fortunate and privileged to have him here at our clinic to share his vast knowledge and experience.
